The timer has a pause button, and the board is not visible when paused.

In Mahjong Gardens you given 3 shuffles. A shuffle allows you to rearrange the board in a new, random order. This is a neat option if you get stuck to be able to use.

Mahjong garden has birds chirping in the background as you play. You can not turn the game sound off.
